The Power Behind Successful Web Design: Positive Thinking

positive thinking on web design“There are no extra pieces in the universe. Everyone is here because he or she has a place to fill, and every piece must fit itself into the big jigsaw puzzle.”

(Deepak Chopra)

The Power Behind Successful Web Design, you ask?  Positive Thinking!

We know you can achieve more!  We know you’re dreaming of higher incomes, a future for your family and new ways to fulfill your dreams while living the life.

We know you prefer the best above the rest and that you won’t stop until you beat the clock!  Better, Faster, Harder and straight in the face of your competitors!

It’s as simple as dreaming.  Think high and you’ll reach higher!  Have your mind set on your goals and you’ll get there.  Improving your attitude means to improve your business, your family and the world around you!

Positive thinking is the key to a better life!  We can make you attain your goals by visualizing them!

Want to know how?  Keep on reading!  A better future awaits there!

STOP, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STOP!!!

Listen:  I know you’re smart people (you know how to read AND operate a computer… that counts for something…) so, if you’re actually reading this post to reinforce your New-Age, Join Hands and Eat Tofurkey superstitions about life and marketing, please…

Stop reading this, turn off your computer, put your soy decaf latte recycled hemp paper cup down, walk away, take a map, look for the nearest  forest and, for your own sake, STAY THERE!

… you even made me quote Deepak Chopra.  I feel dirty.

I know you’re smart, but your heart is paper thin and you’ve learned to derive hope from this quasi-religious bullshit (there, I said it.  That’s how upset I am…) and you are no longer functional in this world.

Look:  what you’re about to read is coarse.   You won’t like it but, the sooner we get through this, the better, okay?  If you need to pull away from me, do it now.

As in right now.

The Truth About Positive Thinking

Positive thinking is the RESULT, not the CAUSE of success.

Getting your business going smoothly will set you in a mood and a position to improve and enjoy your love life and this will make you feel confident enough to risk a bit more than usual and attain results and, overall, you’ll feel optimistic.  My question is:  were you feeling optimistic beforehand?

Does it really matter?  Regardless of your mindset, you got things done.  Your mood was your reward, not the trigger for the things that came to you.

The Risk Of This Mindset

The Influence of your Positive Thinking?  Diddly Squat.

The Influence of BELIEVING in Positive Thinking as a means to succeed?  Manic Dellusions.

Let’s pretend you’re on fire.  You’re attached to your Positive Thinking, actually pondering “it will come off”.  The room smells of roasted porkchops and you keep thinking “my good vibes will put the flames down”.  You resemble charcoal and the entire building, thanks to you, is on fire, so you mutter to yourself  “this is only a phase” as your own fumes make you faint and you turn into a handful of ashes.

I know what you’re thinking “Well, it ALSO takes effort to put down the flames” and that’s my problem with your positive thinking scheme.  It ONLY takes effort and it’s got nothing to do with your attitude towards being engulfed by the flames.  See, the “also” bit is making you waste time you could be using PUTTING THE FREAKING FLAMES DOWN!

Attract THIS, Sucker!

This mindset makes you slow (if not completely useless) when it comes to avert crisis.  Try and be optimistic about piling deadlines, disgruntled customers, programming nuisances and clueless design teams.

Web Design success comes from good planning, elbow grease and constant contact with the customer. Period.

I know, you mean well.  We all want to feel good and live better lives.  But it takes more than smiley faces to do so.
