Loud banners cause headaches!
Few things on the Internet are likely to get your gears grinding like a loud, obnoxious banner. You know what I’m talking about, you click a link and after an age of loading the page appears with a ridiculous dancing animal trying to flog you health insurance. Of all elements of web design, banner design is probably the least consistent. It’s shocking at times to see how legitimate businesses with great websites are content to litter the web with shoddy, irritating banners.
The worst culprits are those who try and disguise their business completely. How many times have you arrived at a page to find a banner informing you have new message in your ‘facefriend’ inbox? Or a solicitation from a beautiful (and scantily clad) woman? Yeah right guys, this is what passes for marketing these days!?
